Sameer Nawaz joined GIB Capital as Head of Investment Banking in March 2019.
Sameer has over 20 years of investment banking and advisory experience. Most recently he re-established the investment banking department of Al Rajhi Capital. Prior to this Sameer spent almost 11 years with Saudi Fransi Capital as Co-Head Investment Banking where he had lead all of SFC’s complex M&A transactions, most of its premium IPOs and certain pioneering sukkuk transactions.
The bulk of Sameer’s career prior to Saudi Arabia was with UBS (and its predecessors) in investment banking, based out of London. Sameer spent some time with Monitor’s corporate finance advisory business (MAST), engaged on M&A and JV transactions and Datamonitor, where he also authored a series of reports for the Financial Times.
Sameer’s Saudi transaction experience includes pioneering transactions such as Saudi Airlines Catering IPO, Abulmohsen Al Hokair IPO, Bawan Company IPO, advising Almarai on its acquisition of Teeba, advising HADCO on the offer from Almarai, advising National Handling Services on the merger with Saudia Ground Handling and Attar and Almarai’s hybrid sukkuk. Sameer has worked on a wide variety of transactions across multiple sectors.
