Osamah Mohammed Shaker joined GIB Capital as the Chief Executive Officer. He became a board member of GIB Capital in May 2018.
Osamah has substantial banking and investment experience in both international and domestic financial institutions within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining GIB Capital, Osamah held the position of Director General of Banking Control, overseeing and regulating all the commercial banks in Saudi Arabia and was a Senior Advisor to the Deputy Governor for Supervision at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA).
Prior to that, Osamah gained over 16 years of banking and investment experience in the Kingdom with the Saudi British Bank and HSBC Saudi Arabia. During his time at HSBC Saudi Arabia, Osamah held executive level positions as Managing Director – Head of Investments, and subsequently Managing Director – Head of Financial Markets.
Osamah also worked as a faculty member at the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh, teaching statistics and providing statistical consultation.
Osamah holds a Bachelor of Administrative Sciences degree in Quantitative Methods from King Saud University, Riyadh; and a Master of Science degree in Statistics from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA.
